What to Expect on Sunday Mornings
If you are in the Lincoln or surrounding Niagara community, we are delighted to welcome you to Sunday morning worship service at Providence Church in Beamsville. Click here for directions.
Thinking of joining us on Sunday morning? Here are some things you might want to know.
When do we meet?
Our worship event starts at 10am on Sunday mornings, and typically lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Come anytime after 9:30, the coffee (or something warm) is on! Someone (we call them “hosts”) will be here to greet you, show you around, and help you feel comfortable.
Once you’re ready to enter the Auditorium, an usher will give you a bulletin, and help you find your seat.
Hearing devices are available, and a sign language interpreter can be available upon advanced request.
How do I get around?
The church has two entrances.
Front Entrance: Facing Hwy 8, which opens to our upper level (hall and auditorium).
Side Entrance: Opens to our lower level (“Providence Kids” nursery and play rooms, and Sunday School rooms).
NOTE: Our facility is wheelchair accessible; However, we do not have an elevator. You will need to access each level through its own entrance and we'll do our best to assist you at the entrance.
What about my children?
We have many young children at Providence.
Nursery care is available for children from infants to 18 months; and for our early learners, 18 months to 3 years, we have Jr Sunday School.
When entering through the side doors of the church, you'll find the Nursery and Jr Sunday School room on the right. Someone will be there to welcome you and your children, and help you sign your children in.
Children Junior Kindergarten to Grade 3 are invited to join you in the Auditorium for the opening of the worship event; they will be dismissed for Sunday School after approximately 15 minutes, and you can pick them up afterwards.
To ensure a safe setting, only the person who signed the child in will be able to sign the child out.
What is worship time like?
Our services begin with a time of opening singing and praying.
Some Sundays we have a time of honest confession, and are reminded of God’s grace and forgiveness.
We then read from the Bible and hear a relevant Bible-based message that addresses the real life issues people face and questions people ask.
There is also an opportunity to financially give toward an important community-focused cause; guests are welcome to join in but shouldn’t feel obligated.
We end with more singing and a blessing. When it’s all over, everyone is invited back to the Hall for a time of refreshments and connecting. We hope you’ll stick around, so we can introduce ourselves and get to know you.
What do I wear?
Generally, we’re pretty casual at Providence.
Some dress up, some dress down.
The main message is to come as you are, as you like - it’s really up to you!
